2 Tbs ground flaxseed

INSTRUCTIONS
Blend it well so that your consistency is not to sticky otherwise the mixture will look wet and feel sticky making it difficult to roll into a ball.
Feel free to add more oats to get a more thicker consistency. The ball should be firm with enough stickiness to form into a ball in the palms of your hands.
When the mixture is ready scoop a spoonful to make 12 balls
Store in the refrigerator for up to a week. They also freeze well, consume within a month.
OPTIONAL – Protein powder
NOTES
If you don’t have all ingredients on hand no problem. There are plenty of substitutions like adding hemp hearts instead of chia or flaxseeds. Or remove both all together if you don’t have it. Don’t have ground almond flour just add more oats. Don’t have pumpkin purée just add more peanut butter.
My kids love these energy balls there so wholesome and nutritious I try to make them at least once a week. I started making these for my little boy who doesn’t consume to much calcium foods. Anyway to try and sneak in calcium foods such as the almonds is a win and not to mention all the other benefits almonds contain.
Even when you add the dark chocolate chips you still feel like a badass boss because you know the kids think it’s a treat. By treat I mean the unrefined sugar kind. Shhh don’t tell them. They are clueless and oblivious they just devour them and it is the best thing ever knowing it’s oh so good for them.
My weakness is refined sugar so I was looking for an alternative not just for my kids but myself as I was on a journey to lose weight and make a life style change. These energy balls are my go to now as part of my lifestyle change and dropping 35 pounds. I tweak these all the time depending on what I have on hand. I hope you enjoy them as much as my family does! Bon appetite!
